The 13th Contemporary Art in the Traditional Museum Festival organized by the St Petersburg PRO ARTE Foundation and the North-Western Branch of the National Centre for Contemporary Arts will be held on 26 September – 25 October, 2015.

This is the first museum festival in St Petersburg; it was established in 2000. Each year several contemporary Russian and international artists receive an opportunity to show their projects in large and small museums of the city. For one month the traditional museum spaces turn into contemporary art venues.

Over the last 13 years 180 projects have been shown in 70 museums by artists from 11 countries. Some of the shows have become widely known, such as The Antarctic Mission - 45 penguins placed on the Arctic and Antarctic Museum by the St Petersburg artist Andrey Rudiev, Observatory - 10 projects in the Pulkovo Observatory by Russian and international artists, The Complaints Choir of St Petersburg by Tellervo Kalleinen and Oliver Kochta Kalleinen, The Sunbathing Bunny – a huge sculpture in the Peter and Paul Fortress by Forentijn Hofman.

On the 26 September, 2015 free bus shuttles will be operating between the festival museums; admission will be free for all who have a festival map. Lectures and presentation will be held in terms of the special festival program.

In 2015 the 13th Contemporary Art in the Traditional Museum Festival will introduce several innovations:
- The Festival will now have an invited curator
- The curator will set the festival theme
- The location of the Festival in 2015 will be Vasilyevsky Island

Invited curator of the 2015 Festival is Alisa Prudnikova, Director of the Ural Branch of the National Centre for Contemporary Arts (NCCA) and Commissioner and Artistic Director of the Ural Industrial Biennial of Contemporary Art in Ekaterinburg, Russia.
