I BUY THEREFORE I AM
The project is an interactive video/audio installation; the author reflects on modern consumer society and on the meaning of human existence within such society. Visitor sees an elderly man sitting in a busy crossroads carelessly blowing, ‘firing’ soap bubbles on passing vehicles. He sells water gun toys to blow bubbles and demonstrates how these work. In the soap bubbles, coming from his toy-gun, one can see people of various ethnicity. The people speak of what makes their lives important and brings sense into living.
Interactive part of the installation involves a machine: by pressing the button visitor produces a cloud of bubbles and the screen shows another portions of bubbles with ‘talking heads’. Visitors can also write down, what makes their lives important and unique.
