Galina Myznikova, Sergei Provorov (Nizhni Novgorod)
Beginning from 1993 the artists Galina Myznikova and Sergei Provorov have created many projects revealing the wide scope of their interests as well as their inclination to creative experiment. Their work includes over 20 experimental video-films that participated in numerous Russian and foreign video and media festivals like Oberhausen International short film festival/ Oberhausen, "Transmediale"/Berlin, FCMM/Montreal, "Viper"/Basel and many others. They also took part in screening programs organized by modern art museums and galleries in the USA, Italy, Sweden, Austria, Australia, Brazil, Switzerland, the Netherlands, etc.
One of Myznikova-Provorov’s most recent projects is the air-sound installation "Idiot Wind" presented at the Russian Pavilion during the 51st Venice Biennale. The main idea of the project was the rejection of visuality in art and transition to the tactile mechanism of communication.
