The Museum of Biology of Forest Animals and Birds at the S.M. Kirov State Forestry Academy

The Museum collection was established on the basis of A.A. Silantyev’s private collection of animals and birds and over the last 100 years has been extended due to regular acquisitions. The collection includes over 2000 stuffed birds and animals from the Russian taiga area. Representative collections of horns of the Russian hoofed animals, traces of marketable animals as well as the collection of nests and eggs of the endemic forest birds are also on display. One of the three Museum halls is dedicated to hunting and features hunter’s outfit, traps and models of animal snares.
