About the Programme


The programme is aimed for beginning and young journalists that write for print mass media and do radio reports about phenomena of contemporary culture and cultural events, as well as for anybody who would like to gain practical knowledge in the field of cultural journalism (radio, print mass media).



The goal of the programme is contribution to the development of Russian cultural journalism, raising professional level of journalistic writing, broadening contacts in the professional field.

The programme provides education in the following majors:
  • art criticism

  • literary criticism

  • film criticism

  • theatre criticism

  • music criticism


the programme combines both internal and extramural forms of education, theoretical and practical knowledge: lectures and seminars, individual tutoring, meetings, working with curators online and independent study.

The programme includes several courses of classes:
  • infrastructure and sociology of culture

  • main trends and tendencies in culture of the 20th century (music, visual arts, theatre, dance, literature)

  • journalism skills (radio and print media)

  • Russian language training



The teaching staff and curators of the programme are leading journalists, experts in the field of arts and culture from Moscow and Saint Petersburg.
