I. War on Poetry. Russian Spiritual Verses from the Bessonov Collection

Every composer was invited to select excerpts from a similar set of Russian spiritual verses on Judgement Day from Bessonov’s six-volume Chanteurs mendiants.

II. Face-glances. Pavel Filonov’s Formulae

The composers were invited to interpret such painterly “formulae” as Formula of Spring or Formula of Revolution by famous Russian avant-garde artist
Pavel Filonov (1883--1941). Filonov’s Formula of Spring was exhibited during the concert in the White Room of the Marble Palace.
