Tanya Akhmetgalieva works with graphics, video and installation. The very first project — the monumental textile panels “The Chrysalis Stage” — in 2010 brought Tanya Akhmetgalieva a nomination for the Kandinsky Prize. In 2015, the project "Allergy to Dust" received the Sergey Kuryokhin Prize in the category "The Best Work of Visual Art". In 2017, Akhmetgalieva took the first place in the TOP 100 young artists in Russia, and also took part in the parallel program of the 57th Venice Biennale with the “Ghost Ship” project and the “Birdman” exhibition. Participant of the European Biennale of Contemporary Art Manifesta 10, 4th Ural Biennale of Contemporary Art, exhibition projects at the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts (Moscow), at the State Russian Museum (St. Petersburg), Moscow Museum of Modern Art (Moscow), Center for Contemporary Winzavod (Moscow), Central Exhibition Hall "Manege" (Moscow), KIASMA Museum of Contemporary Art (Helsinki, Finland), Calvert 22 Foundation (London, UK), Galerie Forsblom (Helsinki, Finland), Marina Gisich Gallery (St. Petersburg) and Regina Gallery (Moscow).
Graduate of the Textile Department of the Faculty of Monumental Art of the St. Petersburg State Academy of Art and Industry named after Stieglitz (2011) and the School for Young Artists of the PRO ARTE Foundation (2008).
