The St. Petersburg PRO ARTE Foundation for Culture and Arts

The St. Petersburg PRO ARTE Foundation for Culture and Arts is a non-profit non-governmental cultural organization established in 1999 in St. Peterburg.

The main areas of activity are: visual arts, museum programs, inclusive projects.

In 2021, the PRO ARTE Foundation became laureate of the State Prize in Contemporary Art “Innovation” in the nomination “For Supporting Contemporary Art in Russia”.

Many of the Foundation's projects have been created in partnership with the State Hermitage Museum, the St. Petersburg Bolshoi Drama Theater, the Museum of the History of St. Petersburg, the New Stage of the Alexandrinsky Theater, and St. Petersburg State University.

The Foundation is the initiator and organizer of two major museum festivals in St. Petersburg “Contemporary Art in the Traditional Museum” and “St. Petersburg Biennale of Museum Design”, in which about 100 St. Petersburg museums and more than 250 artists and designers from 20 countries took part.

Since 2011, the Foundation has been actively developing inclusive programs involving people with visual impairments. In 2017, the project “Music for All” with the participation of blind musicians won the State Prize in Contemporary Art “Innovation” in the category “Educational Project”.

The Foundation's programs are supported by the Vladimir Potanin Charitable Foundation, the Mikhail Prokhorov Foundation, the Bolshoi Drama Theater Foundation, St. Petersburg Committee on Culture, and other Russian organizations.
